Community Reminder. Recent action by the federal government ends the extra COVID SNAP benefits, known as SNAP Emergency Allotments, as of February 2023. The last COVID SNAP payment will be on February 3, 2023. Households will receive only their regular monthly SNAP issuance beginning on March 1, 2023.
About P-EBT for Summer 2022
Each eligible child will receive $390.50. This amount will be split into two payments. The first payment of $191.70 will be issued by the end of June. The second payment of $198.80 will be issued by the end of July.
Ohio sends out benefits from the 2nd to the 20th of every month, based on the last digit of your case number.
6. How often will this benefit be issued? If your child meets the P-EBT criteria, benefits for August, September, October, November, and December 2022 will be issued by the end of January 2023. After January, benefits will be issued to eligible children by the end of the following month.
The number of eligible P-EBT days is based on the statewide average number of days representing the reduction in meals at child care centers. This number could vary each month for August 2022 through May 2023. The amount for August – December 2022 is 3 days, totaling $24.54 per month.

Ohio has been approved for emergency allotments for August to bring all Assistance Groups up to the maximum allotment & at least a $95 supplement.
AUSTIN, Texas - Emergency SNAP food benefits have been extended for September 2022. The Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) will provide more than $344.9 million in emergency SNAP food benefits. The allotments are expected to help more than 1.6 million Texas households, according to a press release.

What can you buy with Ohio P EBT card?
These benefits can be used to buy grocery items (not including prepared hot meals, restaurant food, pet food, or non-food supplies) at grocery stores and retailers that accept the Ohio Direction Card (also referred to as an EBT card). Unused benefits will rollover month-to-month and must be used within 365 days.
The family should call Conduent (the P-EBT card vendor) at 1-866-386-3071 to request a replacement if the card is lost, stolen or damaged. It is the same process SNAP customers do to replace the Ohio Direction EBT card.

The Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2023 law recently passed by Congress ends emergency allotments after the February 2023 issuance. This means by March 2023, all SNAP households' benefits will return to normal amounts, without the added supplement.
All cardholders can call the Ohio Direction Card customer service number on the back of their card six days before the first of each month to find out when their benefits will become available.
You can use P-EBT funds to buy most fresh, canned, and frozen food items, like fruits and vegetables, meat, dairy, eggs, dry goods, and seeds to grow your own food. You can't use P-EBT funds to buy hot prepared foods, toiletries, diapers, alcohol and tobacco, or other non-food items.
There will be a monthly collection of P-EBT data starting in December 2022. The data submitted in December will be for August and September combined, October and November.
P-EBT cards will be reloaded with a second issuance of benefits in December reflecting the P-EBT benefits for the months of January 2022 through May 2022. Summer 2022 P-EBT benefits will also be loaded on to existing cards in December.
