CalWIN, the CalWORKs Information Network, is the largest system of its kind in the country. CalWIN ensures benefits are appropriately issued to more than a million California families. It supports the work of over 24,000 county employees.

The CalFresh Program (formerly known as Food Stamps) helps low-income households increase their food-buying power to meet their household's nutritional needs. CalFresh benefits issued through Electronic Benefit Transfer, also known as EBT card, can be used in grocery stores and participating Farmers Markets.

Income. CalFresh households, except those containing an aged (60 or older) or disabled member or where all members receive cash assistance, are subject to gross and net income determination tests.

If you do not report when your income is more than your household's IRT limit you may get more benefits than you should. You must repay any extra benefits you get based on income you do not report. If you do not report on purpose to try to get more benefits, this is fraud, and you may be charged with a crime.

MyBenefits CalWIN (BCW) is a quick and easy way to apply for CalFresh benefits, Medi-Cal and CalWORKs. When applying for CalFresh, please complete the on-line application as completely as possible. You will then be contacted for a phone interview. For Medi-Cal, your application will be completed by mail.

Are we getting extra food stamps in 2022 California?

California has requested and been approved to issue CalFresh emergency allotments for the month of October 2022. These emergency allotments will be available on Sunday, November 20, 2022. This calendar will be updated each month that emergency allotments are approved.
